Community Facilities

In Tsuen Wan New Town, various community facilities are planned and developed with reference to the
requirements stipulated under the Hong Kong Planning Standards and Guidelines for provision of medical,
education and community facilities to serve the local residents.

Apart from the provision of primary and secondary
schools to meet the increasing population in the New
Town, there are also tertiary institutions including
Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi)
(Figure 26).

Tsuen Wan Town Hall (Figure 27), Kwai Tsing
Theatre (Figure 28) and 13 community halls have
been built for the provision of cultural and social
activities in the New Town.

There are public (Figure 29) and private hospitals
together with general clinics/health centres providing
medical services for the general public.
