1.1 This Consultation Report has three primary objectives, namely:
to describe the process and activities of the First Stage Consultation;
to present the key comments raised during the Consultation; and
to identify how the comments received will be taken forward as the Study progresses.
1.2 In presenting the comments received during the Consultation, attempts have been made to provide a concise summary of the comments, without losing the essence of them.
1.3 The report is structured as follows:
Section Two - provides an account of the background to the Study, summarising its objectives and main output;
Section Three - describes the strategy and activities of the First Stage Consultation;
Section Four - makes general observations on the First Stage Consultation;
Section Five - sets out the key comments and provides responses on each; and
Section Six - identifies the next steps in the study process.
Appendix A - provides a schedule of written submissions received during the consultation;
Appendix B - lists those organisations which were specifically invited to attend the Focus Group Workshop;
Appendix C - provides a list of participants who actually attended the Focus Group Workshop;
Appendix D - provides a schedule of the meetings and briefings held as part of the Consultation;
Appendix E - provides a schedule of those who made written and verbal comments, referenced to the text of the Report; and
Appendix F - sets out a revised list of Landscape Character Types (LCTs), resulting from the Consultation.
