Active Walking Journey
To further increase the likelihood of people visiting
the active destination, the walking experience to
and from the active destination would be equally
important. It is to build on the culture of walking
and encourage people to walk more often for
sustained distance and along more physically
challenging routes, such as via outdoor stairs.
The pedestrian environment should be safe and
sheltered, with good navigation for pedestrians to
orientate themselves.
Colourful painting and patterns on
ground prompts spontaneous activities

Active Mobility
Incorporating active modes of transport
such as walking and cycling as part of
daily routine can increase physical activity
levels. There should be appropriate
infrastructures and supporting facilities to
encourage walking and cycling as part of
daily commutes and to be the first / last
mile journey to public transport nodes.
Provision of bike parking and
maintenance tools encourages cycling
